The Remakery will open in summer 2012, providing co-working space for businesses and projects based on the reuse of waste materials. We are asking potential members to register their interest in advance of launch, and testing out some of our services on a limited scale to ensure they match members’ needs.

 Please note that the membership scheme as described here is a proposal on which we are inviting feedback from potential members. Both the membership categories and the prices are subject to change based on your responses.

Membership Proposal: Overview

Membership of the Remakery is open to all. There are 3 membership categories that offer different benefits:

• Remakers – full or part time workspace at the Remakery

• Business Network – reduce your waste and get promoted through our network

• Community Network – discounts on products and services, special offers and priority information

Remakers

Remakers are businesses / social enterprises (including sole traders) and not-for-profit organisations whose activities are focused on the reuse, repair, refurbishment or recycling of waste products or materials. The Remakery provides a springboard for the development of reuse enterprises by offering:

• Value-for-money workspace
• Access to sources of reused materials, a retail outlet and distribution network
• Access to expertise and collaborative networks in the fields of reuse and social enterprise
• 10% discount on Remakery products, services and training courses

Full Time Remakers benefit from their own workshop / storage space (minimum 6 month contract) and access to the shared workshop space, tools and equipment. We are currently close to full capacity for Full Time Remakers, but if you are interested in this option please contact hannah@brixtonreusecentre.org to discuss your needs.

Prices: £150 / month per garage (13.5 sq m). Discounts for start-ups: 60% off months 1-6 (£60 / month), 30% off months 7-12 (£112 / month).

Part Time Remakers benefit from flexible access to the shared workshop space, tools and equipment.

Prices: Day Membership £10; Flexi Membership £60 / month (up to 12 days use); Anytime Membership £100 / month (drop in anytime).

 

Business Network

Membership of the Remakery Business Network is open to all businesses, with a focus on local traders in the Loughborough Junction / North Brixton area. The Business Network provides members with:

• Easy ways to reduce your waste disposal costs by diverting reusable materials to local uses
• Certification of the waste you save each year, helping you demonstrate your green credentials
• Promotion to local residents and other local businesses through Remakery marketing materials
• 10% discount on Remakery products, services and training courses

Prices: £100 / year or £10 / month.

 

Community Network

Membership of the Remakery Community Network is open to everyone, whether you use our services, buy our products or simply want to support our work. The Community Network provides members with:

• 10% discount and other special offers on Remakery products, services and training courses
• Priority invitations to Remakery events and early notification of all our news and opportunities

Prices: Individuals and community groups (unincorporated associations) £50 / year or £5 / month; Schools, colleges, public and third sector organisations £80 / year or £8 / month.
